Provided below is our
Anti-Discrimination statement
Wright Counseling Practice is committed to dismantling systems of oppression; we recognize that systems that oppress people based on race, biological sex, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class, age, ability, religion, and or citizenship status seriously impact individuals’ mental health and make access to resources and services far more challenging.
We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment on the basis of any of these identities.
Wright Counseling Practice strives to offer culturally competent and inclusive services by educating and training employees to better serve clients of all identities and backgrounds.
-
Discrimination is defined as the unjust treatment of people on the basis on race, biological sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class, age, religion, ability, and or citizenship status. Examples of discrimination include, but are not limited to, differences in access to services, differences in intake process, inequitable treatment policies, and or inappropriate comments.
-
Harassment is defined as aggressive or intimidating behavior that makes an individual feel unsafe, uncomfortable, and or unwelcome. Examples of harassment include, but are not limited to, inappropriate jokes, comments, or questions, demonstration of intolerance towards particular individuals or groups, gossiping, and or humiliation.

While our intention is to provide competent services and safety, we understand that may not always be the impact we have. In addition to being committed to dismantling systems of oppression, we are also committed to holding our Practice, clinicians, and staff accountable.
If discrimination or harassment are reported, Wright Counseling Practice will seek repair from the individual impacted with their consent. We will also take steps to hold the responsible party and the Practice accountable.
This will include an internal review and reflection to understand why this happened and how to ensure it won’t happen again. This may include being required to participate in trainings or educational programs.
Depending on the severity of the offense or if the behavior has continued, the responsible party may also be terminated for their actions. We are committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure we are upholding our values.
